Pope Benedict XVI On Sacred Scripture
.
In November, Pope Benedict XVI issued a new document on Sacred Scripture. The document is called Verbum Domini. It is touted to be the most important Church document devoted to Sacred Scripture since Vatican II's Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation (Dei Verbum).
It has three parts:
1) Verbum Dei, which discusses “the Trinitarian dimension of revelation"
2) Verbum in Ecclesia, which discusses how the Word of God is alive and active in the ministry of the Church
3) Verbum Mundo, which discusses the Church's mission to spread the Word of God and to bring the truth of the Gospels into our secular world.
