Be Prepared - Rape/Assault Can Happen To You And Your Children

Below are reprints from a post in my first blog called Promoting Life As A Roman Catholic.  It came up in a recent discussion about what to do if one conceives a child during rape.

"Tonight, I started my refresher course in R.A.D., Rape Aggression Defense. That is the definition used for classes for female teenagers & adult women. For younger children, it's Resist Aggression Defensively, which includes Personal Empowerment Safety Education with a wider variety of D.A.R.E.-type topics. They educate you about dangerous situations and how to avoid some of them in the first place. They also teach you techniques to help you get away from an assailant and get yourself back to safety. For assaults with weapons, the opportunities go way down, but sometimes those situations evolve and opportunities arise where R.A.D. can be used.

R.A.D. is a national program typically offered by police departments. Mine offers it free of charge, while others offer it for a minimal fee. In either case, once you take the initial training, you can go back to future classes for free, for refreshers at any time, transferable any where in the US. That is R.A.D. System's policy.
