The monastic community at St. Benedict Abbey in Still River, MA is known for its hospitality. It is not uncommon for them to host a birthday party for someone in their extended lay community. The most recent one was for Ralph, an avid New England Patriots Football fan who turned 40.
I took the opportunity to make him a special birthday cake.
The cake ended up being a team effort, with two of the Brother monks and two other guests providing suggestions along the way.
Go team!! St. Benedict Abbey team, that is.
Go Pats!! They have a game tomorrow. :-)
